First – welcome back to Ukevember! I will be playing songs every day on my ukulele to encourage others to share music around the world. Join in the fun! Check out today’s song below.
When we send someone off, we all say goodbye in different ways. I’ve heard “be good”, “go get ‘em”, and the general “have a good day!”, and many more loving phrases shared with loved ones even at lesson drop off times.

Our family uses a phrase my husband started using with our kids a couple years ago and it has stuck around because it’s SO good. If anyone says, “You’re the best!”, the receiver screams out, “No! You’re the best!”. I love this exchange because I really want the kids to think they’re the best AND that we’re the best. Husband earned genius points the moment that phrase stuck.
Since I think in song lyrics (if you don’t, you’re missing out!) I sing, “You’re *simply* the best” and then try not to finish the rest of the lyrics from the chorus.
For today’s Ukevember song I’m playing “The Best” which I found out recently was originally sung by a Welsh musician, Bonnie Tyler. Enjoy the chords and the strumming pattern!
