I am an outgoing person. I start talking to a random person as if we were already having a conversation. I am that person who starts talking to you in the elevator. The one that chats you up while we’re both waiting in line for something. When we travel, I am on Duolingo learning the beginning words and phrases. If we make a connection, we will at the very least be able to say, “Thank you, good morning!”
Here they are in different languages from countries we have visited over the last year!
Gracias! Buenos Dias! (Spanish)
Faleminderit! Mirëmëngjes! (Albanian)
Σας ευχαριστώ! Καλημέρα! (Greek)
благодаря! добро утро (Bulgarian)
Köszönöm! Jó reggelt! (Hungarian)
Danke! Guten Morgen! (German)
hvala! dobro jutro! (Slovenian)
Merci! Bonjour! (French)
obrigado! bom dia! (Portuguese – Portugal)
Jack Johnson has a song titled “Belle” that has a fun bossa nova feel and also reminds me of trying to have conversations with new people each month on our travels. Here are the chords.
